The Austrian Blues Combo is a powerful Powerhouse BluesRock three piece band with electric guitar, electric bass, drums and vocals. The Drummer:Michael plays his amazing Pearl Reference drum kit. It’s lovely sound is a thankful on every stage around the world.Every single mixing engineer in all the venues we played, told us the same: “That drum sound is amazing!Didn’t have to do much with it, to make it sound great for the audience…”Pearl DrumsThe Bassist:Jack plays his black Human Base 5 String bass guitar into his small Gallien Krueger MB500 Fusion poweringa Gallien Krueger 4x10” speaker cabinet (the heavy one).Gritty low-mids, deep bottom end, upfilling high-mids and highs, when Phill is playing his lovely solos.Human Base bass guitarsGallien KruegerThe Guitarist and Singer:Phill plays his Fender Stratocaster into two amps.First is his little Egnater Tweaker Combo with one 12” speaker by Warehouse Guitar Speakers. The second one is his old Fender Bassman Ten Silverface from the early 70’s with four 10” speakers. He uses some effects like a Boss BluesDriver, a Wampler Velvet Fuzz, an Ibanez Fuzz, and for reverb and delayshe uses a TC Electronic G-Major 2. All those effects are controlled by a Loop- and Switchsystem from ProStage. And of course his voice. Not much to say about that one. A really nice, but not too aggressive Rock voice with goodfeeling and a lovely timbre when getting into the deep Blues.Fender Guitars and AmplifiersProStage Loop- & SwitchsystemeEgnater Amplification
Phill uses equipment from ProStage.Phill says: I use the XB1 Booster/Line DriverWith its own power supply (9V AC) and the internal voltage doubling to18V it got so much headroom and is not colouring my tone in any way.And this is very important to me... I got my old Strat and my old Fender Bassman, which has a unique tone, and I do not want to have a change in my tone, when I switch on a booster.... And the size.... it is so small... just great...And you can also use it as a long cable driver. As the company's name, ProStage, it tells you to use it on stages...If you got all your pedals in front of you on stage and your amp is about 6 or 7 meters behind you.And maybe you have some time based effects in your FX-loop,and not to forget the cable from your guitar to the first pedal on your pedal board. You already got about 30 meters of guitar cable...Place the ProStage XB1 in front of your signal change (first pedal after guitar) and your tone will be great.More definition, more presence, more punch, more clarity...And why not getting a loop/switch system by ProStage?Phill uses also the XDS loop and switch system with a X05 foot controller by ProStage. 8 loops for effect pedals in 2 groups of 4 loops.2 MIDI out jacks for MIDI controlable effect units (like Phill’s TC Electronic G-Major 2)There is also a tap relay jack for switching amp channels or other things. All the loops and switches are controlled by the X05 foot controller with 125 presets.connected only by a single XLR microphone cable. no more MIDI cables needed. If you forget yours in the rehearsal room, just askthe sound engineer in the venue you are playing, he shure will have one for you.So now the guitar cable goes directly in to the XDS. If no loop is activated, the signal goes straight into your amp, because all effect pedalsare bypassed via some relays. No signal clarity will be lost.Phill is also using a Klotz AC-110 guitar cable. Double shielded for best sound performance.Even it’s 15 meters long, a double shielded cable is much better than a single shielded one.Learn more about professional guitar rigs: know ProStage, use ProStage...ProStage.eu
